Math a Necessity or a burden.

Let's enjoy numbers together. And teach our kids from the beginning the fun hidden in numbers so that later they can enjoy the same.

Math is a phobia in our Indian Society. Especially for females. Its OK to be poor at maths as your mom was also like that so take it easy baby. This is the approach towards a subject, when we can't do anything without it. Even if you have to become a housewife you have to deal with it on daily basis.Certain qualities that are nurtured by mathematics are power of reasoning, creativity, abstract or spatial thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving ability and even effective communication skills.

"This blog isn’t about making math easy because it is not an easy subject. It’s about making it more sense making because it  really does. This blog is my contribution for shrinkage of gap between theory and practical in mathematics."

Mathematics is the cradle of all creations, without which the world cannot move an inch. Be it a cook or a farmer, a carpenter or a mechanic, a shopkeeper or a doctor, an engineer or a scientist, a musician or a magician, everyone needs mathematics in their day-to-day life. Even insects use mathematics in their everyday life for existence.
Experience says learning mathematics can be made easier and fun loving if our math classes includes mathematical activities and games. Maths puzzles encourage and attract an alert and open-minded attitude among youngsters and help them develop clarity in their thinking. Emphasis should be laid on development of clear concept in mathematics in a child, right from the primary classes. They should enjoy numbers. They should be taught how to see numbers rather than mathematical problems and their solutions.

Till the age of 41 I hated math like any average woman before I could explore my love for this subject when I saw my daughter Kainaa struggling with the same. Now I just love math.  I think the basic reason of students hating maths is a bad teacher. If you have a good teacher who can explain and encourage you, you’ll love it. Math is a communication rather than dealing with numbers. I will prove in my further blogs.

Some people aren't even out of bed before encountering math. Setting an alarm and hitting snooze, they may quickly need to calculate the new time they will arise. Or they might step on a bathroom scale and decide that they’ll skip those extra calories at lunch. People on medication need to understand different dosages, whether in grams or milliliters. Recipes call for ounces and cups and teaspoons --all measurements, all math.

So I thought of starting this blog. This will be dealing with Elementary Maths only. So if you are a teacher till class 3rd and if you are a parent of young children of the similar age. You can post your query here And I will  try my best to resolve the same.

MY little 23 year old niece

A letter to my beautiful niece Manika Ailawadi who has turned 23 years old today. I would like to express the feelings which I had for you from day 1.
You are the reason I have always dreamt of having a daughter. I am not your biological mother, but I am your mother's real sister, and we share our DNA. This means that I am no less than your MOM.. The best thing my sister Shashi Ailawadi ever did in her life was to give birth to a princess like you.

Massis are officially allowed to spoil their nieces.
I am here in your life for a purpose—to spoil you, pamper you, indulge you, fuss over you, and allow you to do all those things that your parents will never allow you to do so. Even your date partner screening will be done by me...... HA HA HA.
When you add an 'e' to nice, it spells 'niece.' And with you, the 'e' stands for 'extraordinary. You are Family's elder daughter. You have to set the path for others to follow.
Every year on your birthday, I am reminded of how time flies. It feels like only yesterday that I first held you in my arms, and now that tiny little girl has been transformed already into a beautiful young responsible woman.
Your mom gave me a wonderful niece. I hope I returned the favor to her in form of Kainaa Chugh.
I promise to grant you every item in your birthday wish list that your mother refuses. That's what Massis are for. Happy birthday, my sweet daughter, my niece, my love. Blessings
MASSI.

I am your massi and you are my niece,
we are inseparable like PIzza and cheese.
On your birthday I will offer you the big piece.
But as I am your Massi can I eat the same please.
Parents will say work hard in life like a successful woman,
Only Massi will say party hard and have fun.
Pursue your dreams and give life its best shot.
Never afraid of failures, remember we both are hot.
Life can be pretty hard at times and we get screw
But always remember one ting in your life
There is your MASSI always wanting to hug you,,,,,
Its straight from the bottom of my heart for you darling
